Our Mission

The mission of the Winchester Blues House Festival is to produce a live festival style show in historic Winchester for the purpose of providing a
memorable entertainment experience and to raise money to benefit our community.

– Blues House 2013 will be the 14th Blues House event held in historic Winchester.

– This is the only live music festival held in historic Winchester.

How we do it
The Blues House Committee partners with benefactor organizations to co-host the event and provide the volunteer support needed to produce and execute the event. These organizations then become recipients of donations made from Blues House net proceeds.

Who has benefited
In 2008, the Blues House Executive Committee chose to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Winchester & Frederick County as their beneficiary. In 2010 & 2011, we achieved the goal of raising enough money to underwrite a Habitat house called, “Blues House.”  This will be the fourth year Blues House is supporting Habitat for Humanity.

In the past, net proceeds were donated to the  Virginia Chapter 1 of Rolling Thunder® Inc., the F.O.P. Ole Fredericktown Chapter #12 and The Office of George Washington Museum.

Since its inception, the festival has raised money to make significant donations to community organizations. After
the first event, net proceeds went to renovate an 1840’s duplex in Winchester’s South Kent Street neighborhood.
This home was to be the residence of a Winchester Police Officer, thus the name Blues House. Proceeds have
also been donated to Celebrating Patsy Cline Inc., Fremont Street NurseryThe Office of George
Washington Museum
Caretakers (now Boys & Girls Club) and more.
